Comic Sands is an online publisher of trending stories in entertainment, politics, viral videos and internet culture, part of The Social Edge Network with George Takei’s official site. At RebelMouse, I was the UX/UI designer of its redesign, with a new logo and a home and article pages built to keep readers moving from one story to the next. The new site went live in July 2024.

I worked with the RebelMouse team on the Blueprint redesign. I designed the new logo, the home and the article layouts on desktop and mobile, and the reading modules that recommend the next story.

The new home opens with a lead story, three more next to it and a newsletter sign up, under a bold new logo in the playful tone of the site. Readers who arrive from social media see at once what kind of site this is and where to go next.
Next to each article, Latest News took the place of a list of older stories, and the Top Stories module sits inside the text. The next story is always one tap away, so a visit does not end with one article.
Each article now ends with The Top 5, more stories from the same section and the most read. A reader who finishes a story finds the next one without going back to the home.
