“The Throwback” is a comedy film directed by Mario Garcia, set for release in 2024, a production that highlights the vibrant and diverse setting of Tampa, Florida. The film revolves around a married couple facing a midlife crisis, with Justina Machado starring as a stressed-out “supermom” who regresses to her wild, college-age self after a post-traumatic breakdown. Her husband, played by Will Sasso, struggles to manage the ensuing chaos at home. The film features a talented cast including Bobby Lee, Gregg Sulkin, Michelle Randolph, and Rhonda Shear.
The project involved a complete redesign of the official website for “The Throwback.” Developed in Webflow, this included the implementation of a countdown timer for the film’s release and setting up sections for news articles, theater showtimes with ticket purchase links, and streaming options post-release with the embedded trailer. The design was modern and dynamic, minimalist, with the colors and typographys used on the film poster. With a self-updating Instagram feed to keep the content fresh and engaging, this approach ensured the website served as a comprehensive and up-to-date resource for viewers and media.
