Cloudline

Overview

Cloudline builds autonomous airships. They run on batteries and solar power and carry up to 100 kg over 200 km, to deliver goods and services without carbon emissions.

In 2022 the company got a new website: a home that tells the technology in three steps, a page about the team and a contact page. It was designed in Figma and built in Webflow at Eikon Labs, the agency where I worked.

My Role

I built the whole website in Webflow from the Figma design by Sara Holt, designer at Eikon Labs: the pages, the scroll interactions, the video, the contact form and the phone version. The site stayed responsive and light, with images sized for each screen and native Webflow components.

Key Contributions

  • Hero in Video. The home opens with a video of the airship in flight, running in the background behind the headline. The button “See us in action” plays the full film in a lightbox, without leaving the page.
  • A Story Told by the Scroll. Three numbered sections (carbon-free aviation, quieter and safer skies, far-reaching applications) come in as the page scrolls, with a progress marker on the side that shows where the reader is.
  • Built for the Phone. Every section was rebuilt for the phone, and the third one got a layout of its own. Images load in the size of the screen and only when they are about to appear.
  • One Navigation, Every Page. The same menu and footer serve Home, About Us and Contact Us, so a change is made once.
  • Contact Form. A native Webflow form with name, e-mail, subject and message, with no outside service.
  • Executive Team. A section with the four executives, their backgrounds and the logos of where they came from.

Impact

The site went live in 2022 and stayed on the air into 2023, with the Home, About Us and Contact pages.
