Comligo Spanish

Overview

Comligo is an online school that teaches Spanish in live classes with native teachers. It sells courses to individual learners and to institutions, such as K-12 schools (primary and secondary education) and state departments of education in the US.

In July 2024, Comligo hired me as a freelance UX/UI designer to design its website. The site speaks to two audiences, learners who buy classes and schools that buy programs.

Role
UX research, UX/UI design and brand refinement

Education
Year
2024

My Role

I took care of the whole design, from research to the final prototype. I did the UX research, drew the wireframes, validated them with the Comligo team, and then designed the pages for desktop and mobile in Figma.

My work was the design. I did not work on the development of the site.

Key Contributions

  • Brand Refinement. I refined the Comligo brand for a more professional look and wrote the brand guidelines. They cover the logo, the color palette, the typography, the use of photos and the visual assets.
  • Design System. I built a design system in Figma with buttons, tabs, switches, links, chips, cards, text fields, icons and a palette of 15 named colors. The pages use Sora for headings and Inter for text.
  • Website for Two Audiences. I designed 27 desktop pages and 32 mobile screens. Learners find courses, pricing and a page to book a free class. Schools and departments find the K-12 programs, the programs approved by state departments of education, and a button to schedule a demo.
  • Content Hub. I designed a resources area with articles, case studies, eBooks and events, plus list pages, search results pages and page layouts.
  • Prototype. I turned the pages into a prototype in Figma, and the Comligo team reviewed it with me.

Impact

The Comligo team reviewed the design in Figma and approved it. After the website, they asked me for social media posts and other marketing pieces, and I kept designing for them until late 2024.
