Coveteur

Coveteur

Overview

Coveteur is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle brand founded in 2011 and based in New York. It became known for its closet tours, where stylists, designers and celebrities open their homes and wardrobes, and it later grew into a media company that creates content for luxury brands.

The Coveteur site ran on RebelMouse, the company where I worked as a UX/UI designer from 2022 to 2024. RebelMouse builds websites for publishers on its own content management system (CMS). Coveteur had a reference design of its own, and my job was to bring that look into the page layouts of the RebelMouse platform, a reskin: a new visual layer on top of the existing structure.

My Role

I designed the reskin in Figma in a single night. I took the Coveteur reference and adapted it, page by page, to the RebelMouse layouts, so the brand kept its look on the platform. I designed the homepage and the closet article for desktop and mobile, the mobile masthead (the team page), and a collapsed version of the header.

Key Contributions

  • A Bold Editorial Voice. A huge wide logo at the top, titles in Druk Wide Bold in capital letters, and text in Sequel Sans. Black and white with a red for the section labels, so the photos carry the color.
  • Homepage. A split cover story, with the photo on one side and the headline on black on the other. Then two featured stories, a list of the latest stories, "The Closets We Love" with the latest closet tours, a column with an ad, and "It's in the Bag", a block of products with prices and a Buy button.
  • Closet Article. The page for the closet tours, the core of the brand: a large title, the credits of words and photography, a lead photo, a pull quote set in the title type, and a gallery of the closet in a grid. At the end, two rows of related stories, more closet tours and other picks, keep the reader on the site.
  • Masthead. The team page, with each role in regular weight and each name in bold, and the contact for partnerships.
  • Mobile Versions. The pages have mobile layouts, with the same hierarchy in one column and the products in two columns.

Impact

The Coveteur team loved the result. Today RebelMouse still shows Coveteur on its site as an example of layouts made for one brand, including closet tour pages and product blocks like the ones in this design.
