LatAm Partners

Overview

LatAm Partners is a B2B marketplace from the team behind Connect33, a consulting firm focused on software outsourcing to Latin America. US companies use it to find and evaluate software development firms in the region. I designed the marketplace and the pages about each country and industry, for desktop and mobile.

The Challenge

A company that outsources software work needs to judge a partner before the first call. The marketplace had to answer the questions that company brings. Which firms fit my budget and my stack? What have they built before? How do they work with clients?

The website already had a landing page. It needed to explain the marketplace better and lead visitors to the partner search.

Research and References

For the country pages, I studied how Remote presents its country guides, with the benefits, the legal and cultural context, and the talent of each country. For the industry pages, the founder of Connect33 suggested tabs for the services of each industry, close to how Upwork organizes its categories.

I wrote the scope of each page, section by section, and reviewed it with the founder before designing. Every page started with a clear purpose, which kept the rounds of changes short.

Key Decisions

  • Filters for the first questions. The search filters partners by budget, industry, tech stack, and location, so a company only sees firms that fit its project. On mobile, the filters open on their own screen, which keeps the list of results easy to read.
  • The same fields on both sides. A firm creates its profile with the same fields that companies filter and compare, such as tech stack, industries, service lines, and engagement type. Every profile reads the same way, which makes comparison fair.
  • Proof inside the profile. Each case study opens in a modal with its images, so a company judges past work without leaving the profile.
  • A guided profile setup. Firms fill in their profile in four steps and check everything on a final review page. Complete profiles keep the search useful.
  • Content that grows with the marketplace. The industry pages show the case studies that firms upload. Each new case study also enriches those pages.
  • Reusable sections for new markets. Country and industry pages share the same cards and sections, so a new country or industry fits the layout that already exists.
  • One visual system. The landing page and the marketplace share the components, colors, and text styles of one Figma file, so they look like one product.

Delivery

I delivered the search, the company profiles, the profile setup, the country and industry pages, and the landing page improvements in Figma, for desktop and mobile. The founder reviewed the progress in short stand-ups and in a live review of the pages. The landing page changes went live on the LatAm Partners website.

Outcome

The founder of Connect33 rated the first phase 5.0 on Upwork and then hired me again for the country and industry pages.

João delivered high-quality results within a short timeframe. We plan on hiring João again for future work and recommend him to anyone searching for an experienced UX/UI professional.
